- To enable us to meet tight delivery schedules,
we carry a large stock of raw materials. We import quality P20 tool steel
from Sweden, pre-machined, saving us time and cost. At present, our stock
levels are kept at around 60 tonnes in the workshop in bar form.
- Clamp plates, ejector plates and rails are stocked, ready for assembly,
to standard sizes. (Manufactured by us), Milled and surface ground.
- Guide Pins and Bushes are also stocked in standard sizes. (Manufactured
by us). CNC turned, heat-treated and cylindrically ground.
- Cavity plates are cut from our stock P20 bars, surface ground top and
bottom, then machined together around the outside. They are then CNC-bored,
counter-bored and tapped.
- Guide Pins and Bushes are then fitted to the cavity plates, and the
rest of the Mould set can now be assembled and dispatched to the customer.(3-5
days turn-around).
- We also offer an excellent pre machining facility, whereby pockets etc
can be CNC milled in the cavity plates prior to the Guide pins and Bushes
fitted. This enables the customer to manufacture inserts etc while the
Mould set is being made, thus reducing stress in two ways. (Toolmaker
delivery deadlines stress, and material machining stress).
- As well as standard Mould sets, we can also manufacture any configuration
of non-standard Mould set, in a variety of materials, ie H13, Stainless
steel, Aluminium, and in a variety of size and format.
- In addition, if the cavity plates need to be heat-treated after the
cavity has been machined we can rough bore the guide pin and bush bores
only. Allowing the customer to complete the mould ready for heat treatment.
We would then finish the bores after the mould has been hardened and re-surface
grind the bottom faces of the cavity plates. Pins and bushes are then
fitted to the mould.
